what is event blogging?
An event blog is a blog created or designed for a particular event. Such as cultural, national, religious, and international holidays. And the process of creating and running such a blog is known as event blogging.
The blog focuses on a particular event to target the huge amount of traffic at the time of the event. Your income will depend on the prevalence of the event and the content’s quality.
The content or articles you put on the blog must cover the basics of the event, including:
What the event is about
The location and time of the event
The people interested in the event
How your readers can enjoy it
The aim here is to provide complete information and to answer the questions about the event. You can do this by using videos, images, quotes, and anything else that your readers can engage with.
Event Bloggers starts doing all the processes months before the actual event date to rank up on Google.
Event Blogging Pros
With event blogging, you can earn a lot within some days (more than what you can make monthly or yearly). Some of them earn up to $10, 000 per day, which is great. As what you invest is so little and its nothing compared to what you can earn.
Event blogging is perfect for those who love to work at specific periods in a year.
Especially those who want to make out time with family, holidays, and other activities.
Event Blogging Cons
One major drawback of event blogging is that it requires an excellent dedicated server to handle the traffic. What this means is, you must invest some money first as dedicated servers are expensive.
But, you can make use of a hosting service that offers service on demand – that handles traffic on the go.
Another disadvantage is that you must stay online always until the event ends. If server, script issue, theme, or plugin issues occur, you may lose a lot of money.
Before you select an event, find out about its low competitors and monthly searches. You can also use tools like KeywordTool, Google Keyword Planner to search for keywords related to the event.
You can choose an event based on the traffic it generates or based on your interests. Selecting an event based on your interest posses an excellent source of inspiration. This will help you create great content.
Choosing an event based on the demands of an audience is also great. But, make a note that the event causes many searches.
Here’s how you can do that:
Use Google Trends
This is the best tool out there to rely on when investigating the trend or competition of searches about something.
All you have to do is visit the website and search for your term. In this case, it will be the name of the event that you want to blog about.
If you have multiple ideas, then it’s the best tool to compare the search volume or trend of those keywords/event ideas.
Let me show you the example that I did for you guys:
The result is very clear if you look at the picture above. I’ve compared New Year and Black Friday on Google Trend from 2004 to the present.
It shows you that Black Friday gets more searches than the new year and also the search volume or interest of Black Friday is increasing every year.
While New Year also gets a lot of searches during the event but it’s not growing. It’s a straight line it’s decreasing.
And Black Friday is creating an upward trend.
So if you want higher traffic then you should go with Black Friday but you should also know that the competition for this term will be higher than the new year.
Either go with high traffic – high competition keyword or go with the average traffic – average competition.
Wondering how you would know the competition?
According to me, the future of event blogging is bright but there is also huge competition in event blogging.
People working fulltime on event blogging because of high competition so if the competition is increasing then it’s not easy to rank a website in 2–3 months.
There are many events in the whole year but people targeting the main events with full-time work.
so I think event based niche blogging still working but we need to do a lot of hard work to make a good income
How To Make Money With Event Blogging
There are a lot of ways to monetize your Event blog and make a huge income. Google Adsense and Affiliate are one of the best ways to monetize the event blog. You can also monetize your event blog in many ways. Google Adsense (Recommended)
Chitika Ad Network
CPA and CPI
Promote your product and so on
Google is one of the best and easy ways to make money from event blogging. If you have an AdSense account then start monetizing your blog with AdSense ads.
Best Place To Put Adsense:
- Header Right (Responsive)
- Sidebar (300 x 250)
- Before Title (300 x 250)
- In post content (300 x 250) or (Responsive)
- End Of The Post: (300 x 250)
Just Keep In Mind:
- The event is big enough with good searches.
- Not So High in Competition.
- You can rank otherwise you are wasting your time because many big professionals already working on that event.
Start Work On Your Event Before Two Or Three Months:
Its good to start work on your before two or three months so you have much time to work and you can rank that blog at that time.
Many bloggers do this mistake that they start work on a blog before 10 or 15 days before the event day. Well yes, you can rank these days if you know what you are doing and you know killer tactics to rank your blog otherwise you cannot rank and cannot attract traffic to your event blog.
So make a plan to work and strict with it.
Keep Your Blog Updated:
You have to keep your blog and blog posts updated with new information and guides. This ll increase your traffic from search engines.
Also, this is good for SEO, and Google gives more priority and rank to those blogs which provide good and updated posts.
Also, use the updated date instead of publishing date in your post info like I am using in this blog. See at the top you ‘ll see last updated in.
So your reader’s ll know that this post is updated and providing authentic information.
For this thing, you need to hire some developers because you have to make some changes to your theme code.
Backlinks mean a link to other sites. Backlinks are also one of the most important things to rank your blogs in search engines.
It’s good to have some links from other blogs and forums that are well ranked.
Well, it’s hard to make good backlinks so I recommended you hire someone to build backlinks for your blog.
You can check Fiverr or Linksmanagment for this task.
But you have to be careful because many sellers provide fake backlinks which can harm your blog rankings. So first do proper research and read other reviews and then buy it.
Share your event everywhere as much as possible like social media sites, social media groups, pages and this can help you to get some social signals and more traffic.
Categorize the Events
Every event has a different mood. Some are celebrated with joy.other are observed with sorrows. Some others are done with pledges. Also, many others are observed to raise awareness on a specific issue. To categorize them with these different moods as events of:
- Joy; like dance day, happiness day
- Sorrow: Anniversary or Memorial
- Religious: Easter, Holi, Eid
- Resolutions: No smoking day
- Love: Valentine day, mother’s day, etc
- Awareness: Environment day, human rights day, etc
- Health: world diabetes day, Parkinson day, etc
- Patriotism: National days of all main countries
There’s nothing complicated about event blogging. All you need to do is prepare yourself correctly and apply yourself to the task so you can profit from all of the major events in today’s world.
